We at idvance LLC are proud to introduce version 3.0 of iTrumpet - updated for the iPhone 4, 5, 6 and 6 Plus.

iTrumpet is for people who play "real world" trumpets:
A. As always, iTrumpet does not require you to blow into the iPhone microphone. You blow a real trumpet using a range of mouth positions. We do not require confusing alternate behavior for your lips and tongue (we see blowing into the iPhone microphone as an awkward gimmick, not as a practical design point).
B. iTrumpet does not require contrary fingering, You play iTrumpet like a real trumpet, using your right fingers to press keys. To control embouchure, and to get open notes, you use your left thumb - which is idle when playing a real trumpet.
C. iTrumpet simulates a B flat (transposing) trumpet with a full three octave range - and with respectable sound quality for a simulator.

We designed and tested iTrumpet with experienced trumpet players. We believe that if you are a student or a professional musician, you will find our solution most compatible with how you play your real world instrument. If you are in a marching band or a jazz ensemble, we hope you will give iTrumpet a try.

iTrumpet is a great substitute for the real thing when you need to keep it quite or just want to practice. Would be a nice addition to any iPhone Band:)

Like this one... Like the tilt action as a metaphor for embouchure alot. Beats the idea of blowing into the microphone big time (got the flute app that does that - impractical if you ask me). Sound quality is great - sounds like a real horn, not some synth. The help admits to the limited C major range - thats okay for a toy I guess, but will look forward to an upgrade that expands it. A nice little diversion but still need to get used to it to play something good - need to get used to using tilt instead of lip movement I wouldnt even think about with the real thing. Probably best to think of it as an iPhone instrument that can sound like a trumpet, not a true simulator (well, assuming to whatever measure thats even possible on a phone - dont expect apple to be adding a mouthpiece anytime soon!). Will look forward to seeing where upgrades with this one goes...

As a musician in a symphony orchestra, I thought the trumpet sound was very realistic. I hate when some guy takes some synthetic sound, puts it in an app, and calls it music. I think the idea of that sliding bar to change the sound is genius! Nice job! P.S- Add b flat, it is a very important note!

We app users are sooooo spoiled! This so is totally great. I Confess I just downloaded it for free but this app makes Me want to get my 200 buck trumpet that I bought 20 years ago out of storage and start playing again! Do this for recorder and flute. A free version gets us through the door but we will pay for extras.

Extremely logical and easy to use once you know how. Dont buy this app if you dont already play trumpet. Once you download it, just take 10 mins to figure out how to use it.

I am a first trumpet out of my 500 kid school, and first trumpet out of jazz band, and I have to say, the sounds are nice and realistic. The valves are nice and easy to use, but there is one thing to change, the mouthpeice pitches... It takes a bit of time to get used to changing the pitch every time I go up a half octive. If that could be changed to be easier to use, this would earn 5 stars! Great job, especially since its free, just try to make it easier to change pitches. I do relize that making a trumpet app is not the easiest thing, especially since it would be near impossible to change dynamics, and do all the fancy jazz stuff likes slurs. Overall, very nice app, recommended to both beginners and veterans.

Some bad moments

The fingering is off for most of the embechours (cant spell it) if you press the first and third keys its always D. Shouldnt that change? And when you press the third key its the same as pressing the first and second at the same time. Plz fix and Ill take this down and put the rating up

Needs a good way to change partials and play open notes at the same time. Virtually unusable without this feature. Alternate fingerings are an important part of any good brass players toolkit: this app only allows one combination for each note, thereby potentially confusing some players and preventing a truer understanding of the or kings of a trumpet. Some partials are skipped (primarily those that are badly out of tune) which should be mentioned in the help file.

This emulator does not effectively imitate the experience of playing a trumpet. The partial controls are difficult to use, especially while trying to finger notes. One star.

$3 instant deletion I am a trumpet player and honestly I cant believe this is even an app. The range is one octave from middle C to third space C# and the interface is the most awkward thing I can imagine. You have to tip the iPhone to make a little white line slide from one end to the other with a stop in the middle - the problem with this setup is that it slides slowly until it gets to the midrange it then speeds up like crazy and slides quickly to the far end where it again reacts like cold molasses. The keys also are bleckk. You have to raise and retap the buttons for each note so to play an A after a B you have to lift the middle finger and then tap with 1&2, completely untrumpetlike in every way. For open notes you tap areas off of the three buttons ( you cant really call them valves). This isnt even fun for kids and would be worse than useless as a teaching aid. No way it could be used as an instrument. The other review has to be a shill. I dont feel cheated at having wasted $3, there were no reviews and I took a chance expecting something simple and fun. This is neither and I hope to save other folks they could better spend on any other app.

one of the worst music applications made, i wasted 3 bucks on this for crap. i play a trumpet, and this is nowhere near how a trumpet actually works...i could of saved up for the $10 trumpet + other music instruments. THEY need to let you download a sample or whatever and test it out to see if u like it before you actually buy the freaking thing. im sick of wasting my money on stuff that doesnt relate to what it says.

You cant even play anything but a C scale. The slider takes forever too move and nothing can be played with 1 octave. Make the controls better and add an option to control slider sensitivity to get 2 stars, maybe
